What a thriller! What a game! What a WIN!
I couldn’t be more proud of the way our GJSFL team led the flag for AFC. Bringing home the cup and doing it with pride.
From the warm up to the final whistle our girls were switched on and fought the whole way through. They showed maturity beyond their years. I knew they weren’t giving up and even though Freo came back to equalise 1-1 our girls switched it up another gear to take home the win with just a few minutes left on the clock. It showed the girls tenacity and hunger to take home this win.
Every game we played against Fremantle was always a close one, and this final was no exception. What a cracking game it was.
So proud to have been able to have the opportunity to coach these girls and can’t wait to see their growth from here on out. Well done girls!!!

It was one of those days for AFC in the finals.
We dominated the first half and managed to score 2 goals, however the boys relaxed a bit and we paid for it as Stirling scored 3 quick goals to win the final. It does hurt a little knowing that we beat Stirling in all games this season but the final.
I told the boys how one game shouldn’t get in their head as we were the best team for 21 games, because we lost only 2 games the whole season. I’m happy overall, because we won the finals series last season and won the league this season by 15+ points. It’s been a good ride and we will be back next season to win more.
