Caruso Steps Down: "The Time Was Right"

There comes a time in one's career where you have to pass the baton over and that time has come for Perth AFC SFL Coach Rob Caruso.

The inaugurel AFC Men's Coach from the Championship Division and the State Futsal League. There's only ever been one other coach to take the role so far in the existence and that was Jon Bucolo in 2019.

Rob has given his all to the team, blooding a crop of young future stars and building the team up to be a competitive and difficult opponent to overcome.

Anyone that knows Rob knows how much work he puts into his coaching and his love for the game is second to none. A huge chapter has been closed but a new one opens up and we can't wait to announce that later on today.

"The time was right to step down. We have been working very hard behind the scenes as usual and I believe the next step we are taking is a major step forward"

"A big highlight for me was Seeing a couple of the younger guys step up into the SFL side and really prove themselves as well as having the guys believe in my system and stick to it"

"I will now concentrate on moving the club forward and the continued growth of all aspects of the club. We have some major projects lined up which I'm excited to be working on"

"I'd like to thank all the boys over the last two seasons who stood by us and believed in what we are working towards. I couldn't have asked for a better bunch"

"I'd also like send out a massive thank you to Ben, Jake and Nathan who put up with my ranting and sometimes interesting decisions. They really made my job so much easier".

I look forward to our next chapter at AFC.
