After a tough start to the season, the Perth AFC SFL side is finally building some momentum fresh off a strong win over Fremantle they carried recent strong performances into this weeks game with a hard fought draw against Murdoch Warriors.
After taking the lead several times in the first half through well taken shots from Spiro and goal of the week contender from Stefan Thomsen firing one into the roof of the net, the boys switched off and allowed Murdoch right back in the game finding themselves down 3-2 early in second half.
However over the last two weeks the lads have really stepped up and have being showing a lot more fight then earlier in the season and deserved to be back in front with the main man Nathan Thorp again finding the back of the net and a strong all round game from Spiro picking up his second with a well taken volley.
AFC unfortunately couldn’t hold on as Murdoch scored a late equaliser and although it may have been two points dropped it seems AFC have found their feet in the competition and can take a lot of positives away from picking up 4 points out of 6 in the last two weeks.
The boys will be looking to make it three weeks unbeaten this week and keep the momentum going when they play fellow new comers to the league Balga FC.
